The initiative in Nyalugwe, Zambia is focused on conserving 15,435 hectares of forests at risk of deforestation. In collaboration with local communities and non-profit organizations, the project will create a sustainable income stream through carbon revenues. It will also employ residents as forest guardians to counteract illegal logging activities. Moreover, the project aims to improve the quality of life for women by distributing high-efficiency cookstoves. This will not only reduce the demand for logging to obtain fuelwood but also mitigate indoor air pollution.
